CBS Mechanical, Inc. is a diversified mechanical and roofing company based in Denton, Texas. The company has been in continuous operation for over 75 years. CBS Mechanical, Inc. was incorporated in 1975 and is one of Denton’s leading private employers.

We provide a full range of mechanical and commercial roofing services with a strong focus in the institutional and retail sector. Our company works closely with school districts, universities, and retail developers to meet growing needs; providing pricing and design criteria as needed.

Meet our management team.

Daniel R. Kress

President & CEO

Dan has been with the company since 1982.  His experience includes mechanical construction including field supervision, project management, and director of operations. He holds a Texas Master Plumbing License and Texas Class A Air Conditioning License.

Steve Kress

Vice President, Roofing Division

42+ years of mechanical and roofing construction experience including field supervision, Project Management and estimating. Specializes in commercial built-up roofing.                

Rick Ames

Project Manager

Rick has been with the company since 1978.  His experience includes commercial and residential mechanical construction, field supervision, estimating and project management.  Rick is a licensed Plumber, Med Gas installer, and IGSHPA Accredited Geothermal installer.  His is primary focus is managing and estimating large institutional projects.

Chip Laborde

Project Manager

Chip has been with the company since 1982.  He is experienced in mechanical construction, including residential, industrial and commercial installations, field supervision, estimating and project management. He is a licensed Master Plumber, Med Gas installer, and is the Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) for CBS Mechanical.  His primary focus is the commercial sector.

Tim Nack

Project Manager

Tim has been with the company since 1985.  His experience is in mechanical construction including residential, industrial, commercial installations, estimating, and project management. Tim is a licensed Plumber, Med Gas installer, and IGSHPA Accredited Geothermal installer.  His primary focus is the estimating and managing institutional projects.

Don Guess

Safety Director

Don has been with the company since 1993.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health with a minor in Aviation and Business.  His safety experience is in roofing, plumbing, HVAC, electric and fire protection.  CBS Mechanical currently has an Experience Modifier Rate far below the industry standard.

Renee Carter

Assistant P.M. / Contract & Office Admin, Roofing Division

26+ years of construction contract and office administration experience (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and roofing). Extensive knowledge with contracts, bidding/estimating processes, bonds, pay apps, AIA document requirements, government cooperative programs, and project management assistance.  

Jordan Kress

Estimator, Field Superintendent, Roofing Division

10+ years general construction experience including estimating and field supervision. Specialized in commercial built-up, TPO, and PVC roofing.    

Josh Kress

Field Superintendent, Roofing Division

10+ years of general construction experience, including field supervision. Specializes in commercial built-up, TPO, and PVC roofing.        

Evan Jones

Field Superintendent, Roofing Division

10+ years of general construction experience, including field supervision. Specializes in commercial built-up, TPO, and PVC roofing.        

Dan Ford

Field Relations Manager

Dan has been with CBS four years after retiring from public education. Dan is utilizing the knowledge he has gained with his MBA, and Doctorate from UNT, to recruit & retain employees. Shannon Stover

Controller / Office Manager

Shannon has been with CBS since 1999. With 24+ years construction accounting experience, she leads our accounting team & oversees contract administration. She’s responsible for creating budgets, financial statements & tax documents. As a member of our Leadership Team, she helps develop company-wide priorities & address key strategic business issues, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
